Drew comes from the ancient and magical land of Wales, and has been gaming since he was old enough to get his hands around a Game Boy. He divides his time almost equally between new and classic games, and maintains that the industry has never improved upon the Super Nintendo and the Amiga 500. These days he mostly goes for games with strong or unique narratives, enjoys a good action RPG and is a recovering Dark Souls addict. He was also quite good at dodgeball at school and sees no reason that he wouldn't be just as good now.
This week Drew has been living out the same four days, over and over. He takes some time out this loop to explore the history of time loops in videogames, and offer some surprisingly strong words of praise for the guy from Weekend At Bernie’s.
Doing things is for chumps. In this week’s Eurofiles, Drew finds out how to win at games by making the rules work for you, significantly improves his golf game, and teaches us all a valuable lesson about the dangers of housing large pets in small environments.
Spider-Man: Far From Home has brought the wildly successful third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a close. Where can the franchise even go from here? Oh, Phase 4? Yeah, OK, that makes a lot of sense actually. Don’t know why we didn’t think of that.
Super Mario Maker 2 is out, and it’s already got more levels than you could ever possibly play. And then some. And then some more. And then a lot more. Drew investigates just how long a Mario Maker 100% run might take, and wonders how much infinity is TOO much infinity.
Digital distribution has a problem with impermanence. As video games move away from physical media, how do we preserve the history of the art form? And you may not realize this, but some of the best games you may have once played are already missing in action.
Back in 1998, Resident Evil 2 was the ultimate in horror gaming. And now, 21 years later, the remake proves two things. First, Resident Evil 7 wasn’t just a lucky fluke. And secondly, that Resident Evil still rules as the king of zombie horror.
Prepare to die, again, as we return to the apocalyptic fantasy world of Lordran in Dark Souls: Remastered. Do modern-day enhancements re-light the Souls bonfire? Or is this resurrection simply another step towards Hollowing?
The ATT Team have been to see the latest battle royale featuring nearly the entire Marvel Comics Universe, and return with well-considered, correct opinions which you may now use to replace in your head all other criticisms and analyses that you have previously listened to or read.
Strap on a matching pair of grenades and go to war against the Norts in this remastered adaptation of 2000 AD’s Rogue Trooper, an early cover-based shooter set in a poisoned post-apocalyptic landscape where your only friend is your gun…and then your backpack…and then your helmet.
Blast your way through an alien-infested asteroid belt in the planet-hopping platform shooter Robonauts, where graceful gravity-switching is just as important as good gunmanship. This action-packed cartoon adventure is available now for the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.
