Jevon has always had a deep "love for the game" even since the days of his early childhood when 2D gaming was more than just a fad and the arcade scene was larger than life. He is always ever watching and ever searching for that new, unexpected, and nostalgic element in a game indicating something far beyond a fancy jewel case, promising screenshots, or big time brand. Jevon plays and enjoys every spectrum of gaming across all platforms, because he never wants to miss out on any opportunity or diminish his gaming experiences in any way whatsoever. As a result he has developed a deep respect and appreciation not only for the game, but for the gaming industry as a whole and the work that goes on behind the scenes. And in his own words: "What better way to appreciate the gaming industry than from the view here at GiN?"
When I first accepted the task of reviewing this new product, I must admit I was a bit skeptical. In the back of my head, I was thinking, ‘OK, this will be another fancy-looking joystick, with cool emblems and lots of little buttons I’ll never use.’ Then I was worrying there would be a tiny number of games out there that support the stick and about the pain of installing and updating drivers for it. All my fears were unfounded. The Titans Sphere is a solid piece of technology. Curious as always to unwrap new packages, I eagerly cut the … Continue reading Titans Sphere beats Sidewinder in head to head testing→

Acclaim’s Iguana team has pulled off yet another great blood-chilling, action-packed, first-person shooter as the sequel to last year’s highly praised Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. This one will leave you nothing less than impressed. Turok 2 is the first of many games designed to work with Nintendo’s new 4 megabyte expansion pak, a hardware add-on used to enhance graphics, sound and gameplay of titles designed for its use. This new expansion pack takes Turok 2 to a higher plateau of gaming as it increases resolution, enables smoother animation, heightens artificial intelligence and tweaks the sound of the game. Though Turok 2 … Continue reading Turok 2: Seeds of Evil uses N64 memory expansion to fullest→

Konami’s "Contra Adventure" is clearly a big disappointment in the Contra series. This game should have been taken back to the drawing board for some serious rework. For those hardcore Contra fanatics who were anxiously awaiting this new sequel, put your gear up, unlace your boots, clean out your weapons, stash your ammo and hope for a better sequel next year. This year’s storyline basically goes like this: You must save the planet from Red Falcon and its alien brood by infiltrating the ancient Mayan Temple and putting a stop to the activity going on there. Your government feels the … Continue reading This Contra isn’t revolutionary→
