This was the first year that GiN had a reporter, Marion Constante, covering AwesomeCon. And we are so glad that we did. AwesomeCon 2016 was quite an affair, with everyone from Admiral Ackbar to NASA in attendance. Fans of sci-fi, anime and of course videogames had plenty to amuse themselves at this growing con with something for everyone.

The Eve Online Fanfest 2016 show is in full swing, and includes everything from previews as to where the space-based MMO is heading to presentations about real science from NASA engineers.
Blizzard really pulled out all the stops for BlizzCon this year, giving gamers quite a few surprises right at the opening ceremonies. We even got a deep glimpse and the pending WarCraft movie. Sit back and enjoy the full opening ceremonies, if you can keep from jumping out of your seat that is.
GiN Reporter Marie Brownhill was able to attend the Comics and Popular Arts Conference at DragonCon this year, and even got to talk to luminaries like Dr. Carl Dull, who ran a panel on the Philosophical Perspectives of Japanese Anime.
Sony pulled out all the stops for the Paris Games Week, including revealing many exclusive titles coming out for the PlayStation 4. Exclusive new titles included Horizon Zero dawn and Matterfall from Housemarque.
Sony’s press conference finished on a high note, as David Cage, of Quantic Dreams, announced a new game called Detroit: Become Human, with a trailer. Detroit is based on the character Kara, the female android featured in a tech demo Quantic created in 2012.
DragonCon has always been known for its excellent, all-inclusive cosplayers, and 2015 was no exception. Our reporter wandered among the masses this year, pointing out a few that were exceptionally impressive.
