This week our retro gamer Michael Blaker takes a look at a true classic with Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. At the time of their release, the Prince of Persia games were really cutting edge, and today still provide a good deal of platforming fun.
In this week’s Strange New Worlds “The Serene Squall” episode, the Enterprise embarks upon a rescue mission at the request of a mysterious Dr. Aspen. However, neither is entirely what it seems to be at first glance. Will Pike’s cooking be enough to save the Enterprise? Will Spock get a clue? Does Chapel wield a mean hypospray?
On this week’s Strange New Worlds episode, Pike on a routine cartography mission rescues an alien shuttle only to discover that one of the people aboard is an old flame. Pike becomes embroiled in what appears to be a conspiracy to assassinate the First Servant. However, nothing is as it seems, and what Pike finds will challenge his ideas of morality and the validity of sacrifice.
The Enterprise moves to Starbase I for repairs after the events with the Gorn, and the crew takes some time for some much needed shore leave. It goes about as well as you might expect.
The Enterprise races to aid a suffering colony only to discover devastation and a ship full of traumatized survivors. They begin the rescue only to discover that they’ve been caught in a trap by one of the Federation’s most elusive enemies and something straight out of La’an’s nightmares.
Strange New Worlds has certainly hit the ground running. Episode three “Ghosts of Illyria” puts Pike and Spock in the middle of a deadly storm while a mysterious plague ravages the Enterprise in orbit. It falls to Number One to save everyone, but she must risk revealing a closely guarded secret about herself in order to do so.
