Two weeks ago, I went off on a rant about how Team Ninja may have killed off a great franchise with their ruination called Metroid: Other M. As I expected, the fanboys came out crying foul against me and defending the game with their Wii-goggles on.
However, I also got my fair share of supporters who agreed with me about the dialogue overkill, the submissive actions of Samus, and the frustrating perspective switches. It was a mess that I was thankful enough to return to Gamefly shortly after.
But what Gamefly sent me next, I thought was going to be another black mark on my playlist. A follow up to one of my worst games of 2010, one that left a rotten taste in my mouth. The game sent to me was Halo Reach.
Why was I worried about this game? Because remember the rip-off that Bungie released last year called Halo 3: ODST? A game that consists of a 4-5 hour single player campaign and maps that were already purchased by those dedicated to the Halo franchise. But I’m sure there were those such as myself who felt betrayed by Bungie for releasing this atrocity as a full price title, and they too were worried about the way Halo Reach would turn out.
But still, this was a game I had interest in. After all it, was about the events that led to the original trilogy. Almost like the Revenge of the Stih of Halo. But still, there was the aftertaste of ODST to deal with…
