Editor’s Note: Blerdcon 2025 was an amazing show. Check out all of our Blerdcon 2025 coverage!
GiN has been covering Blerdcon, a convention that celebrates black nerd culture while also being inclusive of all backgrounds since about 2018. The show keeps getting better every year, and 2025 was no exception.
The theme for 2025 was horror, as was evident in the name of the show, Thrilla, which was based on the famous Michael Jackson song and video.
Everyone seemed to really enjoy and embrace the show’s horror theme, which was all throughout the convention.
There was also a lot more cosplaying this year, with costumes ranging from funny and playful to truly frightening ones that had to be seen to be believed.
GiN reporter and videographer Ron K. Williams was there to capture as much of the magic as possible, so sit back and enjoy his look at some of the fun from all three days of Blerdcon 2025.
It’s pretty evident that everyone was having a really great time.
Blerdcon will be back in 2026, where it will run for three days starting on March 6. The theme will be “Carz and Barz.”

Blerdcon 2026 will celebrate car and music culture, and will be according to the press release, “staying true to Blerd culture and remaining inclusive of our POC, Disabled, LGBTQ, Women, and International geek family!”
GiN will be there next year, and we hope all of you will be as well.
