Hey all I’m back with another Spring 2021 series for this week’s Anime Sunday. It’s my Saint’s Power Episode 01 Impressions!

Plot: The plot of this first episode is pretty good. The main character Sei, is summoned to another world, queue the traditional speech and “record halting sound effect”, oh wait there was another girl there, and she was taken away to be the Saint who’s supposed to save the kingdom by the Crown Prince who everyone really doesn’t seem to like. The plot is very much erratic in this first episode, so you may be turned off by that. I’d suggest giving the show more than the usual one episode, as I know enjoyed the later episodes more than this first one, to refresh my memory of the series I once read as a Web Novel years ago.

Characters: We get to meet Sei in this episode, as well as Jude who despite what you may think isn’t the romantic interest of Sei. The rest of the cast is very small at this stage, hell even in the next few episodes we only get introduced to a few more characters.

Art: The animation is done by Diomedia, and while it’s not close to ufotable quality, it’s still much better than anything Studio DEEN has ever done.

Music: The musical score fits this first episode, but it isn’t very memorable either.

Overall: A rough start to an otherwise very good series, do try to give this more than just a single episode before passing judgement.
