Hey all, I’m back with another Anime Sunday with this week being a look at one of this past Spring season’s shows. It’s my Aristocrat Appraisal Episode One Impressions.

Plot: The full name of this series is actually “As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World.” The first episode is pretty standard Isekai/Tensei stuff where the main character dies and is reincarnated in another world. But instead of being skilled at all in combat or magic and the like, the main character Ars Louvent is able to see the potential of everyone he looks at with his appraisal skill, so he can see their various abilities and potential talents in the form of numbers. Honestly, it’s a pretty solid first episode. And while I won’t give away any spoilers, the ending was very satisfying.

Characters: Ars is a kid, so most of the time he can’t do things himself, a trait he acknowledges. And so he takes advantage of his appraisal gift in order to find those who can do such things. It’s a pretty interesting take on the genre, where the main character is essentially not the biggest badass around and instead uplifts those around them in order for them to shine.

Art: The art is pretty great and done by a rather newish studio named Studio Mother, but it’s not ufotable quality. It’s still very good, nonetheless.

Music: The music of this first episode is okay but not particularly memorable either.

Overall: A solid first episode for a rather interesting Isekai series.

For those who like: Isekai, Tensei, Fantasy, Action, Drama, Interesting Plot, and Fun Characters.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
