Hey all, I’m back with another Anime Sunday with this week being a look at one of this past year’s summer season’s shows. It’s my “Isekai Yururi Kikou” Episode One Impressions. In English, this series is called “A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring.”

Plot: The plot is pretty lackluster as I’ll state down below, though it does have the twist that the main characters who are overpowered compared to the rest of the world are essentially toddlers. Honestly, it’s an okay plot, but it’s also not particularly noteworthy either.

Characters: This first episode introduces us to the main characters of Takumi, Alan, Elena, and Sylphyryll. I actually covered the original source material for this series years ago for one of my Translation Necessary Thursday columns and not much is different from what I remembered. Honestly, it’s all fairly standard Isekai stuff: guy accidentally dies due to a god’s mistake and gets sent to another world. The twist is that he’s not the most overpowered guy around but ends up taking care of the two kids that are, Alan and Elena.

Art: The art is pretty great and done by EMT Squared who also did some of my more favorite anime series of the past few years, particularly Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear and Fluffy Paradise.

Music: The music is pretty forgettable in all honesty. It’s not bad, just not memorable whatsoever.

Overall: An okay series but not outstanding.

For those who like: Isekai, Fantasy, and Action.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
