Hey all, I’m back with another Anime Sunday with this week being a look ahead to the new season. It’s my Most Anticipated Summer 2024 Anime.
Mob Kara: This seems to be a bit of a genre fusion with the world becoming slightly different when dungeons appear all around Japan, allowing all sorts of people to earn money by exploring them. Even children can enter the dungeons, which is how the main character as a high school student gets a part-time job exploring dungeons. I’ll definitely be giving this a look.
Dahlia in Bloom: This is another reincarnation series, though it’s a series aimed for women. So, it’ll be a bit different from most of its competitors which may help it to capture a wider audience since men are probably still going to watch it, but its appeal to women might bump its popularity. It will be interesting to watch for sure.
Isekai Yururi: I covered this series back in its original medium as a web novel a long time ago for my Translation Necessary Thursday columns, and I enjoyed it quite a bit back then. I’ll be interested in seeing if this series holds up still years later.
Naze Boku: This seems to be an odd series that deals with a boy being transported into a magical parallel world after a great war, and he is the only person who remembers this change or something along those lines. It’s not very clear from the synopsis I read, but it’s intriguing enough to make me give this series a shot.
Honorable Mention:
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest: I read the original manga series to its conclusion, but I never really got back into the series. So, while I probably won’t care to watch the entire thing, I’ll be giving this a peek to see how it stacks up to what I remember. It probably won’t hold up, but I felt it was worth mentioning.
