Hey all, I’m back with another Anime Sunday with this week being a look at one of this past year’s summer season’s shows. It’s my “The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army Was a Human” episode one impressions.
Plot: The plot of this first episode is somewhat interesting. The Demon Lord’s army is on the move, and one of its most notable commanders is named Ike. Unknown to almost everyone else, Ike hides the fact that he is actually human behind a mask since he was taken in by one of the most powerful demon magicians as his grandson. Honestly, the plot is okay. It’s not spectacular but pretty decent.
Characters: We mostly get introduced to the main character Ike and his direct superior Cefiro. The rest of the characters aren’t really named except for the really oddly named (at least if you know Japanese history at all) Demon Lord Dairokuten. Honestly, this first episode is pretty slow paced, but Ike is the star of the series, and it shows in this first episode.
Art: The art is good, but it’s not particularly standout nor close to my personal gold standard of ufotable level in quality.
Music: The music is fairly forgettable. It’s not bad by any means but mostly just not at all memorable.
Overall: A good fantasy series with a rather unique concept.
For those who like: Fantasy, Action, Drama, and Interesting Plots.
Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
