Hey all, I’m back with the first entry in a LitRPG series I read a while back for this week’s Bookish Wednesday. It’s “Bonded Summoner Book 01” by JJ Bookerson.

Plot: The plot of this first entry begins with the main character Jake getting told by an actual god that he was being drafted to fight against the forces of evil across the multiverse, and that he’d be empowered by some system resembling his favorite MMO. Honestly, it’s fairly cliche, but the way things are presented is rather interesting. I won’t spoil why, but it’s not quite as cliched as you might expect.

Characters: Besides Jake, who is a pretty typical nerd type character, the other main characters are Fhesiah and Ophelia. Honestly, I really enjoyed those two, Fhesiah is more than a bit standoffish, but it did make sense given that she is a cultivator rather than someone with a system exactly. Ophelia is probably my favorite character though.

Overall: A fun first entry in an interesting LitRPG series.

For those who like: LitRPGs, Fantasy, Xianxia (sort of), Action, Adventure, and Good Characters.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
