Hey all, I’m back with a film that’s a historical sports drama based on the 2010 book “Mustang Miracle” for this week’s Movie Monday. It’s The Long Game.

Plot: The plot of this film revolves around a true story about the San Felipe Mustangs, five Mexican-American youths who played golf in the 1950’s. I won’t spoil the plot, but needless to say the story is amazing and was incredibly well done. As someone who played golf as a kid and was pretty decent at it, I definitely had a fun time watching this movie.

Casting: The cast is awesome and includes stars like Cheech Marin, Dennis Quaid, and Jay Hernandez as Pollo, Coach Mitchell, and Coach Pena respectively. The rest of the cast is just as good, but those three actors really help the film move along.

Cinematography: There aren’t any real special effects, but the film is great nonetheless.

Music: The music fits the film really well, though it isn’t particularly memorable afterwards.

Overall: A wonderful film based on the true story of the San Felipe Mustangs.

For those who like: True stories, sports, golf, drama, awesome plots, and a great cast.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
