Hey all, I’m back with a game that many publications have ranked as one of the worst of all time for this week’s Retro Game Friday. It’s Bubsy 3D.

Plot: Busby 3D, also known as Bubsy 3D: Furbitten Planet or Bubsy is 3D in Furbitten Planet is a direct sequel to the original Bubsy game. In Bubsy 3D, creatures called Woolies come to Earth planning to steal all of its yarn, and they kidnap Bubsy and take him to their planet. Bubsy escapes his kidnappers but has to collect atoms and a certain number of rocket parts to escape the planet.

Gameplay: The gameplay was atrocious, and the move to 3D did not help this series at all. Honestly, the controls were just bad and compared to something like Mario 64, it is just an utter wreck. Maybe that’s not fair in comparison, but I think they just had too many movement options and it was just a pain to control.

Art: The art certainly didn’t help. It was uninspired and polygonal to the extreme, and the texturing was severely lacking compared to other 3D games like Crash or Mario 64.

Music: I don’t remember any of Bubsy 3D’s music.

Overall: Steer far away from Bubsy 3D. It’s a waste of your time to even think about playing this, it’s that bad.
