Hey all, I’m back with another Isekai series for this week’s Translation Necessary Thursday. It’s “The Dirty Way to Destroy the Goddess’ Heroes Volume 01” by Sakuma Sasaki.

Plot: The plot is a very different take on the Isekai genre, as it takes the usual route and completely flips it on its head. It involves a human boy named Shinichi being summoned by the Demon King in order to help the king defeat the Goddess’ resurrected heroes that are attacking him because the Demon King wants human world food for his young daughter Rino and his people since it’s better than their own. Yeah talk about being different. So Shinichi agrees to help the king with the Goddess’ heroes who have infinite resurrections, and he has to use his newfound abilities.  It’s an amusing story, but it’s not spectacular either.

Characters: Shinichi is our main character, but Arian, Celes, and Rino are the female leads, and they are all pretty interesting. Arian is a very enthusiastic girl who is one of the heroes, but is pretty naive. Celes is a very powerful Dark Elf who works for the Demon King, but has an absolutely merciless tongue and wit. Rino is the Demon King’s young daughter.  The rest of the characters are okay, but those four are the standout characters, and they kind of overshadow everyone else.

Overall: A pretty amusing story, but not spectacular. Still a very interesting take on the Isekai genre.
