Hey all, I’m back with another Adam Sandler movie for this week’s Movie Monday. It’s Anger Management!

Plot: The plot isn’t that great, and it’s a mix of a buddy cop movie and a romantic comedy. If that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, you’d be absolutely correct. It’s not a terrible movie, but it’s pretty forgettable in my eyes. I tend to enjoy Sandler films if I watch them with family. This is because some of them enjoy crazy wacky humor, my aunt and cousin in particular, but this is one I can safely say I didn’t enjoy all that much. Amusingly, this film’s title is translated into Japanese by calling it New York Happy Therapy which is all sorts of hilarious.

Casting: We have Jack Nicholson and Sander as our main leads, Dave and Buddy. While they do a decent job, they can’t carry the deadweight of the plot of this film. There are a few cameo appearances, but the standout side role is Lynne Thigpen of Carmen Sandiego fame. Sadly, this was her final film as she died a month before its release. The film was dedicated to her memory.

Cinematography: Nothing really stands out in terms of special effects, because almost none were used. Honestly, it’s just so-so.

Music: The music isn’t anything to write home about either.

Overall: A forgettable movie that really isn’t worth watching.

For those who like: Adam Sandler, Jack Nicholson, Rom-coms.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
