Hey all, I’m back with the sequel to a comedy classic for this week’s Movie Monday. It’s Austin Powers 2!

Plot: The plot is as nonsensical as its predecessor. Frankly, I can’t say much about it, other than to say it’s completely bananas.  It’s like a trainwreck in slow motion because it’s terrible but it somehow amazingly loops around to being fascinating to watch. Also, it’s freaking hilarious.

Casting: Mike Myers is the star of the show, hilariously portraying multiple characters, including the titular Austin Powers.  Heather Graham is the female lead, and she does a great job as well.

Cinematography: Honestly, the film has all kinds of wacky effects. Plus, the tricks used to have Myers in multiple places in the same scene is great.

Music: It’s just as wacky as the rest of the film, not much more needs to be said.

Overall: Definitely worth a watch if you enjoy parodies and/or the first Austin Powers film. I will admit to being extremely biased with this franchise due to while I was growing up, we visited my aunt and cousin fairly often. They had a cardboard cutout of Austin Powers they had gotten from a theater complete with the motion detected voice sensor in their garage, so I was exposed to the film content there quite often.
