This week for Shoujo Saturday I’m covering a series I enjoyed reading, although it’s not been finished and I had to stop reading it as my reading load was getting to be too much at the time. It’s Karneval by Tōya Mikanagi!

Plot Synopsis: Nai searches for someone important to him, with only an abandoned bracelet as a clue. Gareki steals and pick-pockets to get by from day to day. The two meet in a strange mansion where they are set up, and soon become wanted criminals by military security operatives. When Nai and Gareki find themselves desperate in a hopeless predicament, they encounter none other than the country’s most powerful defense organization, “Circus”.

Plot: The plot is fairly interesting, and while I won’t go into specifics I really do enjoy the growth the characters show over the course of the chapters I read.

Characters: Of all the characters I like Yogi the best, probably because he’s just such an easy going guy. The rest of the cast is interesting, and while I can’t talk about them without spoilers I will say that they are all well developed rather well.

Art: The art for this series is standard Josei material, and while I say standard it really isn’t bad. If anything this series art quality is the benchmark I’ve set for Josei Manga series.

Overall: If you enjoy mysteries, action, adventures, interesting characters and plot you’ll love this series.

For those who like: Mysteries, Action, Adventures, Amazingly Deep Characters, Intriguing Plot, Lots of hot characters.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
