This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m covering the fourth entry in one of my favorite Xianxia series. It’s Coiling Dragon Volume 04 by I Eat Tomatos!
Plot Synopsis: Linley Baruch, Scion of the once famous clan of Dragonblood Warriors that shook the material plane of Yulan, has grown into his powers as a Dual-Element mage of both Earth and Wind and has progressed as a Warrior as well. On his way back from training in the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts he saves a group of youths, one of whom he quickly forms an attachment to, Alice.
Plot: The plot so far has been great, and while it slows down considerably with Linley’s first romance with Alice, it does speed back up halfway through the volume. It’s an incredibly important volume in terms of Linley’s character development and it’s a joy to read.
Characters: We don’t get introduced to any new characters really in this volume, though we do get to find out more about some older characters like Linley’s father Hogg. However the star is Linley, but Bebe is still as funny as always.
Overall: An excellent entry in the series, probably one of the more important ones in the entire series.
