I’ve moved on to a real MMO now that I’m tired of dealing with excuses from the development staff at Bungie. It’s Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn.
Why Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn?: First because I can play it on my PS4, my own computer is a Mac and is currently dying and I’m using an even older computer to write currently. Second because lots of my friends from Destiny are playing it.
What does it have over Destiny?: A Storyline for starters, but also a trading and market system, a real customization system that affects more than just cutscenes and hanging out in one area. I can also interact with more than 16 people at any given time, for instance yesterday I took part in a hunt for a single monster where about 500 people showed up. It was also the first time I’ve seen slowdown on the PS4. Not only this, but the Free Company system allows players to buy a house together and work together to make it look and be awesome. It’s a real MMO with real MMO developers who know what they are doing when they make new content. No pushing bosses off the sides of cliffs to beat them easily.
Where can you find me?: I won’t be giving you my name, but if you want to check around on the Jenova server you might find me seeking some new storm to overcome. If think you’ve found me send me a tell and we can hang out.
What can you play it on?: A PlayStation 4 obviously, but you can also get it on PlayStation 3 (though they will be dropping support for the platform shortly after the first expansion comes out) and PC. It doesn’t matter which you play on as all three can play together.
That it’s it for this week’s Video Game Tuesday.
