After a year of development, veteran game developers from Axis Game Factory, LLC have just launched their rapid level creation toolset, AGFPRO 1.0 and AGFPRO 1.0 Premium on Steam. This comprehensive toolsets is designed to provide game developers and enthusiasts alike with a powerful and rapid level creation, terrain and vegetation editing, lighting and atmosphere system that puts the power to create in anyone’s hands.
After launching the product in late September in the Unity Asset Store and on their own website, Axis Game Factory took their product to the Steam Community to try their hand at the "Greenlight" process. After twelve short days, they received notice that their products were approved. "We just went live on Wednesday, and the response has been tremendous, we can hardly keep up with all of the inquiries and community response," shares Axis Game Factory’s CEO, Tammy McDonald, "I knew it was a unique and powerful product, but you never know until you put it out there how people are going to respond. It has so many unique features, it really does appeal to a wide spectrum of end users."
What’s unique about AGFPRO and AGFPRO Premium is that it is an independent product that empowers users to create game levels and environments for all types of game genres and the AGFPRO Premium version is also designed to work in concert with the Free and Pro versions of the Unity 4 game engine to allow for further customization and game publishing and is supported for the PC, Mac and Linux systems.
"I have spent the last twenty-four years of my career in game development and design, working on every console system and 3D software imaginable," states Matt McDonald, Chief Creative Officer of Axis Game Factory, "AGFPRO is something I have wanted to create for a very long time; a toolset that makes the process of making games fun and easy, yet providing the features and functionality that professionals require."
AGFPRO empowers developers to rapidly create game maps, sculpt terrain and design levels quickly and easily. With over 500 assets pre-stocked in the warehouse, along with 28 pre-set themes and simple maps, users can begin creating levels in literally minutes.
Axis Game Factory is also offering a free demo version of AGFPRO that will allow users to kick the tires of the product and play test before buying. "The Demo version includes everything that AGFPRO does, but does not allow users to save their scene files," explains CEO, Tammy McDonald, "AGFPRO differs from AGFPRO Premium in that the Premium version gives users the Unity tools that allow for AGF scene file importing (in the Free and Pro versions of Unity) and if they have Unity Pro, they can also bring their game assets into AGFPRO Premium and receive art source from the asset packs."
Currently, both AGFPRO and AGFPRO Premium are being offered for a special discount of 25% off on Steam until November 27th. "We priced these two products to make them available to anyone who wants to make games," adds Matt McDonald, "I grew up on welfare and am a self-taught artist, I didn’t want to price this product in a range that would make it impossible for users that might not have the funds or the big production budgets that big studios have. This is also a great learning tool and we are supporting schools around the world to use AGF to teach game design, level creation and an array of curriculum that makes learning fun and engaging."
Additional key features of AGFPRO include an advanced terrain creation system; paint, sculpt and plant vegetation, sophisticated brush support system; real-time terrain deformation and painting system with tri-planar texturing with normal maps; terrain texture color tinting; advanced vegetation system and global editor; water system with sliders for wave direction, speed, intensity, refraction/reflection color and foam properties; geometry brush system; extensive pre-sets to quickly being scene creations; independent pre-fab mode to create complex collections of assets; intuitive grid-snapping and collision detection; multiple genre players to support Action RPG, Platformer and FPS – just to name a few!
