CrowdStar, renowned social gaming company for global successes such as CrowdStar’s It Girl and Happy Aquarium, is today announcing the hiring of former Glu executive, Alex Galvagni, as the Head of Studios.
CrowdStar, which has been rapidly expanding in 2011, with 100 employees and over 30 million monthly active users, is bringing on Galvagni to continue scaling up in hiring, studios and operations.
Prior to working at CrowdStar, Galvagni was the Senior Vice President of Global product development for Glu mobile, where he worked for eight years. During his time with Glu, he built, scaled and led the technology and product development of the company.
"We are absolutely thrilled to bring Alex’s depth of experience to the CrowdStar team as we continue on our path of rapid growth," says Peter Relan, CEO of CrowdStar. "He has a proven track record of developing companies to private and public exits and expanding them globally."
Galvagni also served as the President and COO of Transpera, a pioneer in mobile video advertising, which was acquired by Tremor Media last February.
"CrowdStar’s unique approach to social gaming paired with their excellent team and growth plan made them a clear choice for my career path," says Galvagni.
Prior to joining Glu Mobile, Galvagni served as an Architect at BEA Systems Inc., where he planned the extension of the WebLogic platform to mobile computing.
Galvagni also has experience working at Proxinet early in his career, one of the first developers of web browsing solutions for mobile devices.
