Veteran video game developer Cyberlore Studios, Inc. announced today that Seth Spaulding has been named President of the company effective immediately. Mr. Spaulding, former Vice President and a ten-year veteran of the company, recently led Cyberlore's development efforts on Playboy: The Mansion. Spaulding succeeds Joe Minton who will remain at Cyberlore in the role of Vice President of Business Development.
"Cyberlore is anticipating the future needs of the company as we begin the transition to the next generation gaming consoles and the larger projects they represent, " noted Spaulding. " This change will allow me to focus on the company's growth as we continue to develop cutting edge social and economic sim games while Joe focuses on acquiring new business."
Minton adds, "In over twelve years in the video game industry, Cyberlore has seen and responded to many changes and I'm confident that our new management structure will strongly position us for the excitement ahead. By separating the duties of studio management and new business development we will be able to more aggressively approach the unique needs of each role."
Cyberlore's latest release, Playboy: The Mansion, licensed from Playboy Enterprises International, Inc. (NYSE: PLA, PLAA), is a sim that allows players to live the charmed life of Playboy visionary Hugh Hefner. The game is published by Arush and Groove Games, distributed by Hip Interactive (TSX:HP) and Ubisoft, and is available for the Sony Playstation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox videogame system from Microsoft, and PC systems. Cyberlore will announce their current projects at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles later this month.
