Entries in the 2021 International Serious Play Award competition has been set for Tuesday, Feb. 9. The Award honors outstanding learning-based digital and tabletop games in Military, Government, Business, Non-Profit, Healthcare, Higher Education, K12 and Museums/Visiting Centers.
The Award Program has three categories:
• Commercial Digital Learning Games (Professional); entries by Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021
• Tabletop/Board Game Learning Games (Professional and Students); submit entries by Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021
• Serious Games developed by Students, due in May 2021
Entry categories include Corporate/Vocational; Non Profit; Healthcare/Medical; Local and State Government/Military; Pre-k Education; K-12 Education; Higher Education; Museum/Visitor Centers; and Other.
Games produced in a university-affiliated studio with light guidance by college faculty or high school advisors qualify for the student category. Game produced by university studio for sale to the commercial market must be entered in the Professional category.
Entries are judged on several elements: how well-executed and clear the feedback, assessment and learning objects are; overall gameplay, which includes how engaging and interactive the game is; the orientation for the player and the aesthetics of the game.
Gold, Silver and Bronze winners from each category will be showcased during the 2021 Serious Play Conference, online again in 2021.
