Artix Entertainment, the indie game development studio that delivers download-free browser-based RPGs to 130 million users, released HeroSmash into its Beta phase last week. The Beta release is open to all players. Just one week into the release, there are already over half a million registered Beta testers.
HeroSmash is a new MMORPG where Super Villains and Heroes battle against each other for control of strategic locations and items within Super City. Players can choose to become evil Super Villains or good Heroes and fight to ensure their side’s victory.
"Now that HeroSmash is in its Beta phase, everyone can log in and play, joining hundreds of thousands of super-powered Heroes and Villains in Super City," says Tony Deller, lead game designer for HeroSmash. "We have made sure that there is enough trouble for everyone to get into!"
The game is family-friendly, safe for all ages, and it is drawn in a style that hasn’t been seen before in any of Artix Entertainment’s other games. It is drawn in a vinyl art-style and features ultra-customizable characters. Players are able to choose their characters’ noses, eyes, mouth, hair, skin color, hair color, eye color, as well as a unique armor and combination of super powers.
