Jesper Kyd the electronic and symphonic composer of the Hitman series, today announced he has partnered with Nile Rodgers' Sumthing Else Musicworks record label and Sumthing Distribution to market and distribute the original soundtrack for Eidos' No.1 selling Hitman: Contracts. The album is released today at music retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, CDNow, HMV, Musicland, Tower, and Virgin.
Hitman: Contracts takes you into the mind of Agent 47, the most ruthlessly efficient contract killer in history. Enter a world of crime, sin and greed as Agent 47 encounters his greatest adversaries to-date. Hitman: Contracts explores the dark psychology of killing for a living and is the darkest, most disturbing episode in the series. Developed by IO Interactive, the game is available on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.
"Jesper Kyd's score is a remarkable fusion of contemporary, dark electronica and provocative atmospherics," said Andy Uterano, President of Sumthing Distribution. "The music perfectly captures the essence of the character Agent 47 and his latest conquests in Hitman: Contracts. This is a very exciting release for the Sumthing label."
Kyd recently performed music tracks from Hitman: Contracts during the game's launch party in Europe. He is currently scoring major titles for Eidos, Konami and Take 2 and has recorded live symphony sessions in Budapest and Paris where he recorded with a 90-piece orchestra and 60-piece choir for an unannounced project. Jesper Kyd is managed by Bob Rice of Four Bars Intertainment.
