Infinium Labs, Inc. (OTC BB: IFLB) has added Michael L. Whitaker as vice president of operations. Whitaker will oversee operation of the data center and consumer support call centers, distribution of hardware from factory to retail and internal corporate IT, leading up to the launch of the company’s flagship offering, the Phantom Gaming Service, the first end-to-end, on-demand game distribution service.
Whitaker brings to Infinium Labs more than 15 years of operations experience in engineering, customer service, network management, central operations and project management.
"Mike brings multi-faceted experience to our management team which will contribute to long-term development of our company on all levels," said Kevin Bachus, president of Infinium Labs. "As we continue our growth, Mike’s leadership and operational expertise will be an integral part of our organization."
Most recently, Whitaker founded StepsAhead, LLC, which developed and implemented regional and national communications networks. He previously served as chief operating officer at Memphis Networx, directing operations for the design and implementation of the metropolitan broadband infrastructure for the City of Memphis.
Prior to Memphis Networks, Whitaker was vice president and general manager of broadband services at CoreExpress, where he guided company positioning, built a sales team and led the development of new broadband products.
"With recent advances in broadband technology, I wanted to be involved in a project at the heart of such an exciting application as delivering games right to the living room," Whitaker said. "I wasn’t a hard-core gamer before, but the Phantom Gaming Service is going to have me hooked."
Whitaker holds a bachelor’s degree in science from Indiana State University.
