Konami Digital Entertainment – America will be highlighting Dance Dance Revolution Extreme (DDR Extreme), the latest title in the renowned dance video game series for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV at the Cardio Play Zone booth #71555, January 6 – 9, 2005. The Cardio Play Zone at CES will feature companies that are at the forefront of a new breed of "excer-tainment" products that blend consumer-electronics with fitness.
As one of the showcase titles at CES’ first ever Cardio Play Zone, DDR Extreme combines a video game and dancing into a one-of-a-kind interactive experience. DDR Extreme gets gamers off the couch and grooving along to more than 100 minutes of energetic dance music and comes complete with a special dance pad that plugs directly into the PlayStation 2 console.
More than just a fun video game, DDR is also an effective exercise tool. Countless people have lost significant amounts of weight playing DDR — burning calories at their own pace while playing in the privacy of their homes. DDR Extreme comes with a built-in *workout mode* that allows players to track the calories they burn as they play. In addition, the title features support for Sony’s EyeToy USB camera, which gets players moving their hands, arms and feet for a full body workout.
