MYST V Soundtrack On Sale

Cyan Worlds, Inc., developers of the legendary MYST series, today announced the release of the MYST V: End Of Ages Original Soundtrack, the music accompaniment to the final chapter of the multi-million selling MYST series. Featuring 50 minutes of original music from the game, the soundtrack CD is available to order from http://www.cyan.com/games/soundtracks.php.

Cyan Audio Director/Composer Tim Larkin has created the game’s original soundtrack which serves as an homage, of sorts, to the entire franchise. Listeners will find an evocative taste of the isolated and eerie moods, the vivid and bursting orchestral productions, and the unique combinations of world music that have been present in past soundtracks combined into a new and invigorating 17 track album, woven together to carry the wonder and beauty of MYST V, and to bring the series to a masterful and worthy end.

An accomplished musician, composer and sound designer, Tim Larkin creates innovative and mood-enhancing soundtracks for videogames, film and television. His recent game titles include Pariah (Digital Extremes/Groove Games), The Incredibles: When Danger Calls (THQ) and Uru: Ages Beyond MYST, which received PC Gamer’s award for "Best Sound," GameSpot's award for "Best Sound Effects" and a Game Developer's Choice nomination for best "Audio." Larkin was also the sound designer for the Academy Award winning animated short film The ChubbChubbs!. His music from Uru: Ages Beyond MYST will be performed at "Video Games Live" in Seattle (10/29) and Vancouver (10/30). For more information visit www.timlarkin.net.

Rand Miller, co-creator of MYST and founder of Cyan Worlds, and his Spokane-based development team have brought the development of the final episode and storyline to a close in its most dramatic and immersive experience to date, with photorealistic 3D scenes, innovative new slate and in-game help systems, and intricate puzzles with depth like no adventure game before.
