A terrifying myth comes alive in Germany but everyone’s favorite teen detective, Nancy Drew, is on the case in the latest mystery adventure game from award-winning developer Her Interactive. Many years ago a monster stalked the German forest surrounding Castle Finster. According to locals and storytellers, the monster disappeared when it claimed a victim. Now everyone is frightened by the sights and sounds of something large stumbling through the darkness. Nancy Drew: The Captive Curse launches today for PC and Mac and is immediately available in all major retail stores and at www.herinteractive.com.
"Just like any engrossing mystery, The Captive Curse draws you in with a rich storyline and textured characters," says Megan Gaiser, Chief Strategic Creative Officer (CSCO), Her Interactive. "Players will experience an interactive and addictive mystery game as they uncover clues and attempt to unravel this grim tale. It’s the perfect case for our heroine, Nancy Drew."
In The Captive Curse, Nancy’s off to Germany to investigate mysterious sightings of a creature that’s been terrorizing the community of a remote Bavarian castle. Local legend tells of a creature that marauded the area centuries ago, wreaking havoc and ultimately causing the death of a young woman before disappearing without a trace. As Nancy Drew, it’s up to the player to unmask the creature before suffering the same terrible fate.
If you take a risk that ends badly, don’t worry; you won’t have to start over. The game will automatically return players to the point before the fatal mistake. The Captive Curse also features two difficulty settings, Junior and Senior Detective, to allow players of all skill levels to solve the mystery.
"Her Interactive is the pioneer in developing and publishing titles for female game players," stated Stuart Moulder, CEO, Her Interactive. "With The Captive Curse, we continue our amazing success with the Nancy Drew Adventure Series by providing an immersive storyline, an exciting mystery and a powerful role model that girls look up to and parents applaud."
Nancy Drew: The Captive Curse is available at a suggested retail price of $19.99. Her Interactive is publishing the game on a DVD disc, playable on both Windows PCs and Apple Mac computers. The ESRB rating for this game is E +10 with Mild Violence.
