QMotions, Inc., the leader in developing active game technologies to the consumer, will be previewing its new QMotions-Baseball video game system to retail channels worldwide at CES 2005 The new system will be competitively street priced to other game accessories and announced prior to March 2005. The first shipment is anticipated by the end of March 2005.
The new QMotions Batter-Up sleeve and home plate system provides unprecedented control of each type of bat swing in every at-bat situation. Great game play and a variety of features make QMotions-Baseball a grand slam winner!
"We replace standard keyboards and game controllers with the ability to use real sports equipment (golf clubs, baseball bats, etc.) for ‘actual full motion’ player participation. Gamers will enjoy the opportunity to ‘be in the game’. Swinging a real bat will provide the opportunity for additional game strategies and challenges," commented Amro Albanna, QMotions President and CEO.
"Our system, combined with some of the most popular video baseball games- like EA Sports MVP Baseball, ESPN Major League Baseball; and 3DO High Heat Major League Baseball; takes batting practice and interactive game play to a whole new level, making it more fun and realistic for baseball players and gamers. They can’t work on their accuracy and swing timing with a game controller. Ball contact is as timing sensitive as in an actual baseball game," Albanna added.
The Batter-Up sleeve and home plate contain sophisticated sensors that replace keyboard/game paddle activation of the swing and can detect various full swings and bunting. The adjustable Batter-Up sleeve can easily accommodate most wooden, metal and plastic bats. In addition to batting, foot controlled buttons on the home plate allows the batter to control both head first or feet first slides for on base runners. The system connects to the USB port of a PC or the standard game port of popular game consoles.
The QMotions;Baseball Batter-Up sleeve is powered by four AA batteries.
