In June, Namco America, a leading publisher of wireless games and content, will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of PAC-MAN. In celebration, Namco America announced today plans to launch PAC-MANIA.
In this full-color 3D sequel to the original PAC-MAN, PAC-MAN faces more mazes, more ghosts, bigger rewards and more danger.
"While this icon may be aging, he's far from retiring," said Scott Rubin, General Manager of Sales & Business Development for Namco America. "PAC-MAN fans will be pleasantly surprised with the new 3D look and feel, and the new features, challenges and adventures in PAC-MANIA."
The beloved ghosts are back, but this time they've brought their friends. Up to nine colorful opponents put PAC-MAN through his paces. Other new features include PAC-MAN's ability to jump over the ghosts. But look out, a few ghosts have learned this trick too, and might catch PAC-MAN midair as he chomps through the scrolling maze worlds. From the childhood playgrounds of Block Town to the islands of Sandbox Land, there are 23 levels of dot-chompin' action. Reach the end and join the ranks of the "PAC-Maniacs"!
"In the 3D version of PAC-MAN, the fun includes a frantic dash, levels filled with near-misses, attempts to grab power pellets while eating the bonus fruit, and special power items," Rubin said. "PAC-MANIA is the most chaotic and challenging PAC-MAN game on mobile phones to date."
Attendees at E3, the annual videogame tradeshow to be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles May 18 thru 20, can preview PAC-MANIA at the Namco booth (#824, South Hall).
