Pandora was the surprise hit of 2013. After much anticipation the game has received praise and accolades from many major websites, and has been defined as "one of the games I enjoyed most playing in recent years" (Space Sector), "the surprise of the year" (7ID Gaming) and ‘the closest thing to Alpha Centauri I’ve played since I last played Alpha Centauri" (Rock Paper Shotgun).
Now when players buy Pandora they are not just buying it for one platform (PC, Mac or Linux). Instead they get all formats in one package, a serial number that works for all and no intrusive DRM so they can install on their Mac and their PC. If they buy the boxed edition it will come with all formats as well.
This also marks an evolution in Slitherine’s distribution. In the future all multi-platform games (PC/Mac/Linux) will have a single download or disk containing all formats, allowing players to download and play the games on all operating systems they own.
"We continue to listen and adapt’, says Iain McNeil, Development Director of the Slitherine Group. ‘Changing models and making sure we actively respond to our customers need is our top priority. Sometimes it requires time and a lot of effort that may distract from the pure game development tasks, but this also helps us in creating a solid service for our many developer partners".
