Miniclip today announced that it entered into an agreement with Ndemic Creations to exclusively bring the thriving and critically acclaimed iOS game, Plague Inc., to Android devices this month. Since its launch on iOS, Plague Inc. has rapidly developed a strong, enthusiastic following. Miniclip is supporting the game’s success with its mobile distribution resources and proprietary X-Port Genie technology, which dramatically accelerates the porting time from iOS games to the Android platform.
"Plague Inc. has been one of the biggest mobile indie successes of 2012. It is an extraordinary game that fits in perfectly with our current diverse library of mobile games, and through our technology, we can continue Plague Inc.’s phenomenal iOS success by quickly bringing it to Android in just a few weeks when it normally takes months," said Sergio Varanda, head of Miniclip Mobile Division. "Ndemic’s decision to partner with Miniclip to bring its game to Android demonstrates the amazing value that Miniclip can bring to indie game developers who wish to quickly and cost effectively distribute their iOS games on Android."
"Miniclip’s technology and industry expertise made them the right partner to bring Plague Inc. to Android," said James Vaughan, founder and CEO of Ndemic Creations. "Plague Inc. captivated iOS players earlier this year, performing beyond expectations, and we now expect big results for the game on Android."
The Android version of Plague Inc. will deliver the same high quality, strategic gameplay that is available in the iPhone and iPad versions as players are asked to design and master the most lethal and effective plague possible to bring an end to humankind.
Miniclip’s powerful and revolutionary X-Port Genie technology allows the Android version of Plague Inc. to be updated simultaneously along with the iOS version using a single code base which streamlines the update process for developers and benefits players with faster access to all the same content updates in development.
Plague Inc. is Ndemic Creations’ first game and will be Miniclip’s 16th Android title and 44th overall mobile game released since the launch of the company’s successful Mobile Division in August 2010.
Plague Inc. will be available on Android devices through the Android Market.
