Over the Christmas period Firefly Studios gave away almost 1,000,000 in-game strategy cards in the Stronghold Kingdoms Christmas Giveaway.

Upon login players of the free-to-play persistent online strategy game were greeted to over two weeks of free prizes and festive cheer. In that time a massive 750,000 cards were snatched up and 13,000 rare premium tokens were handed out to Lords and Ladies of English, German, French and Russian descent. The competition was made available across all game worlds and lasted until 1st January 2012.

Paul Harris, Producer on Stronghold Kingdoms was ecstatic about the response from users. "This is the first event of its kind in Kingdoms and to have such an overwhelmingly positive response from players means a lot to us. You can certainly look forward to more community activity like this from Firefly in 2012". Over 42,000 players took part in the competition, winning up to 100 strategy cards each.
