Final Fantasy XIV: Online – Dawntrail
Due for release on July 2nd, fans of legendary gaming franchise Final Fantasy don’t have long to wait for the next expansion of the fourteenth iteration of this well-loved game. The expansion, available on PC, PS and Xbox platforms, sees the released of a new DLC titled Dawntrail. The DLC sees the storyline of the MMORPG shift towards the western continent of Tural, a land full of new and exciting friends, foes and creatures. Many fans will be excited to see how the storyline continues to evolve, with Dawntrail following on from Endwalker – the last expansion of the game which was released to critical acclaim back in 2021. Considering the consistently high-quality output of developers Square Enix, many will be expecting great things once again.
Age of Empires (Mobile)
Later this year it looks as though fans of classic strategy game series Age of Empires are finally getting a mobile version of their beloved game. Originally released by Microsoft back in 1997, nine more games have followed, each contributing to the series’ commercial success. Fans of the game will know that this is not the first time a mobile version of the game has been attempted by Microsoft – with the failed Age of Empires: World Domination not even lasting a year on the App Store before being taken down. Developers claim the new game will provide new concepts and designs, an improved player experience, and all new gameplay features. Let’s hope it’s second time lucky for Age of Empires Mobile!
Shark Hunter

Fans can expect plenty of action and adventure, with a combination of vehicle, space, stealth and open combat featured throughout the game. Expected to drop on August 30th players can start to get excited by watching the latest cinematic trailer.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT): Splintered Fate
Originally released on iOS back in May 2023, TMNT: Splintered Fate is finally getting a console release sometime this July with a timed console exclusive on the Nintendo Switch. The first upcoming Switch game on our list sees the four turtle brothers on the hunt for their missing sensei turned adopted father Splinter, as chaos ensues in their hometown city of New York. With a PEGI 7 rating, the game is designed both for young players and more mature audiences who are looking for some nostalgic, fast-paced action. Filled with exciting combat sequences, fans can play as any of the four turtles using their unique weapons, whilst also being able to team up with friends in thrilling co-op gameplay. Splintered Fate is sure to be a hit!
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
The latest edition of this highly popular historical adventure game series (developed by Ubisoft Quebec) sees the setting shift over to 16th century feudal Japan, a chaotic era in which the country experienced constant infighting and major social upheaval. The game revolves around two main protagonists – a female ninja called Naoe, and an African Samurai by name of Yasuke – inspired by the real historical figure. Fans can expect to see classic features of the Assassin’s Creed series, with stealth, parkour and open world exploration integral to the gameplay. Several new features such as extra abilities, historically accurate weapons and the return of eagle vision will give fans plenty to be excited about. Available on PS5, XSX/S and PC, the game is set for release in November this year.
