Third Wave Games, the new video game development house formed by industry veterans Morten Brodersen, Johnni Christensen and Phillip Tavel, has chosen game composer legend Mason B. Fisher to join its development team and produce the soundtrack for the upcoming title War World – Tactical Combat.
Recently making his return to the PC gaming scene, Fisher will come on board to compose the soundtrack for the company's first title, War World – Tactical Combat, a first/third person mech-on-mech single and multiplayer combat game for the PC due out this fall. Inspired by musical scores from such composers as John Barry, and music from heavy metal bands including Ozzy Osbourne, Led Zeppelin and Metallica, Fisher brings more than 10 years of sound producing, composing and designing to the already accredited War World team.
"I first wanted to be involved with Third Wave Games because I was impressed with the team that they have managed to assemble," said Mason B. Fisher, composer War World – Tactical Combat. "Third Wave has constructed a solid core of game enthusiasts — game fanatics — who specialize in all fields of game development. I have been extremely impressed with the overall game concept and game engine for War World – Tactical Combat. It’s going to be a fun ride."
Fisher's original composing credits includes renowned projects such as Age of Wonders II: The Wizard's Throne as well as highly celebrated producing and sound designing ventures including "A Change of Heart" for which he received both Telly and Axiem Awards.
"We were approached by more than 60 musicians who were interested in doing the score for War World – Tactical Combat," said Morten Brodersen, Third Wave Games. "It was a tough choice selecting the right person for the job, and we believe we have found somebody who is absolutely the perfect fit for our vision and to the team."
