Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games) today announced the appointment of Terri Durham as Executive Vice President and Global General Counsel effective immediately. Ms. Durham will oversee all aspects of VU Games’ legal affairs on a global basis reporting to CEO Bruce Hack. Most recently, she served as Vice President and Counsel for VU Games’ parent company, Vivendi Universal.
"Terri brings extensive corporate legal experience to VU Games, including intellectual property matters, licensing negotiations and litigation," said Mr Hack. "She is a strong addition to our global management team and will play a key role in driving business issues for the Company."
Prior to joining VU Games, Ms. Durham oversaw litigation and compliance matters for Vivendi Universal and its subsidiaries. She also served as Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs for Vivendi Universal Net USA where she directed legal affairs for all of Vivendi Universal’s Internet brands, including management of MP3.com’s copyright infringement litigation. During her tenure at VU Net, Ms. Durham handled licensing negotiations, litigation, and insurance matters and served as a liaison to VU’s legal departments in New York and Paris.
Before shifting to an in-house practice, Ms. Durham was a partner at the San Diego office of Gray Cary Ware and Freidenrich, where she had a litigation practice with an emphasis on intellectual property, first amendment and business issues. She holds a J.D. from Emory University School of Law and a B.A. in English and French from the University of North Carolina.
