Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announces that Wanted: Weapons of Fate, the videogame based on Universal Pictures' action-thriller Wanted, starring James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie, is now available for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION 3 Computer Entertainment System and PC.
Published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in partnership with Universal Digital Platforms Group and developed by GRIN, Wanted: Weapons of Fate is an intense, third-person action-thriller that takes combat to a new level with iconic techniques and moves drawn directly from the film - such as "Curving Bullets" and "Assassin Time" - as well as an innovative, multi-layered cover mechanic. Picking up the action where the film left off, players continue the story of hero Wesley Gibson to create an entirely new chapter of the Wanted mythology in which they will explore both Wesley's journey to becoming an unmatched überassassin and the epic fiction of "The Fraternity."
In development since 2007, Wanted: Weapons of Fate re-teams the film studio with executive game producer Pete Wanat, who has previously collaborated with Universal on critically acclaimed movie-based games The Thing, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and Scarface: The World is Yours.
In Wanted: Weapons of Fate, players can take on the role of Wesley or his father Cross to confront all new enemies, including the French chapter of "The Fraternity," a group that is fanatical about upholding the code of the Loom of Fate. The French chapter is headed by The Immortal, a severe Fraternity leader with a grudge against Wesley and his family, and also employs Araña, a beautiful but deadly Spanish assassin, and Brummel, the businessman assassin who is as street smart as he is sophisticated.
Wanted: Weapons of Fate is inspired by the blockbuster feature film Wanted, which recently debuted on DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Starring James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie as members of an elite team of assassins who live by an ancient, unbreakable code, the action-thriller is available in stores now.
