The Adventure Company today announced that WANTED: A Wild Western Adventure for Windows is now available at retailers across North America.
"With the recent cancellations of Sam & Max 2 and Full Throttle 2, we thought it important to give adventure gamers what they want and what we think is noticeably missing from genre – humor," said Byron Gaum, Product Manager for The Adventure Company.
Trotting on horseback through the countryside, Fenimore Fillmore happens upon a farming community in trouble. John Starek, a greedy rancher, has set his sites on the town and won't stop until he takes over the land. Quaking in their boots, the community turns to Fenimore for help. A natural-born hero, he saddles up for stand-offs, gunfights and jailbreaks. He also develops a hankering for the lovely school teacher, Rhiannon, who just happens to be Starek's niece. Take on the role of Fenimore Fillmore to save the town, get the girl, and ride-off into the sunset.
WANTED: A Wild Western Adventure is the ideal blend of classic graphic adventure and RPG. The incredible graphics and delightful humor are reminiscent of famed Lucas Arts titles such as Monkey Island and Sam & Max. Players will explore eight eye-popping locations and interact with an eclectic cast of more than 30 crazy 3D characters. Gamers are rewarded with more than 40 minutes of real-time 3D cinematic cut-scenes upon solving numerous puzzles and mini-games. The new proprietary engine allows for natural facial expressions and character movement identical to those of today's best 3D cartoons.
WANTED: A Wild Western Adventure has received critical acclaim in Europe under the name The Westerner. Developed by Revistonic with script editing by award-nominated Writer-Designer Steve Ince, the game has an ESRB rating of ‘E' for Everyone.
