Todd is binging out, playing lots of great games this summer after acquiring many of them in the ongoing Steam Summer Sale. Todd bought 11 games for $70, which would have normally cost about $280. The Steam Sale is mostly great, but it’s easy to get a bit carried away.
The biggest expansion to This War of Mine (over 100 awards, including IGF and SXSW Festival Award) explores the hardships of wartime survival as seen from an entirely new perspective ― that of a child.
It’s a rare thing, but occasionally an adventure game comes along with the exact right mix of immersive environment, brilliant writing and well-constructed puzzles. Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet is one such game. Come along as we dive into this fun pirate-themed romp, with voice acting from Tom Baker.
This week out Time Waster is a little under the weather, but that hasn’t stopped him from enjoying his time with a rhythm game called Melody’s Escape.
Dutch game studio Gamious announced today that its visually charming, humorous take on the simulation genre, Turmoil, will be released for PC on Steam on June 2nd after a year in Early Access. Drawing inspiration from the historic 19th century oil rush in North America, Turmoil received a total of 23 updates based on community feedback while in Early Access and garnered a 90% approval rating from Steam users.

The Banner Saga 2 picks up where the first game ended. Happily, for those who haven’t played the first game, you can jump right in with the sequel, thanks to a handy animated synopsis of the first saga. Valve Corporation and Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF0 have formed a ground-breaking partnership under which Lionsgate has become one of the first major studios to license films to Valve’s popular Steam digital distribution platform, the two companies announced today.
