Hey all, I’m back to a series I haven’t covered in a while. It’s Once Broken Faith, Book 10 in the October Daye series, by Seanan McGuire!
Plot Synopsis: Politics have never been October “Toby” Daye’s strong suit. When she traveled to the Kingdom of Silences to prevent them from going to war with her home, the Kingdom of the Mists, she wasn’t expecting to return with a cure for elf-shot and a whole new set of political headaches. Now the events she unwittingly set in motion could change the balance of modern Faerie forever, and she has been ordered to appear before a historic convocation of monarchs, hosted by Queen Windermere in the Mists and overseen by the High King and Queen themselves.
Plot: This is a book all about Politics. If you thought American politicians were sleazy, you haven’t read many books or stories about the Fae. There are action sequences, but they are not the focus of this entry in the series. That being said I think it was one of my favorite yet, if only for what occurs, which I won’t say anything more about to avoid spoilers.

Characters: We don’t get introduced to too many newcomers, but there are some. However, my favorite characters of the book are Tybalt and the Luidaeg who are both just awesome in this book. The rest of the cast is good, but those two were just too fun for me to name anyone else as my favorite. That said Toby is the star so she wasn’t overshadowed by them, just had to share the spotlight.
Overall: An excellent entry in a series I very much enjoy. If you haven’t been listening to the series already, you should start doing so.
